Our method of approach
Through extensive research and development, our estate fencing & gates have been developed to provide a traditional, timeless presentation whilst presenting an admirable boundary for onlookers to admire.
Originally, estate fencing would have been cast in wrought iron in a blacksmiths forge, the most popular type referred to as the "devils claw". The fencing components would then be taken out into the fields and dug in by hand.
The horizontal rails would have been attached to the uprights using a mouldable wedge type clip to secure the uprights in position once they'd been dug into the ground.

Today, we still use hand operated equipment to drive the uprights into position but with the use of spirit levels and laser guided assistance for gate posts. We also use MIG welding techniques to secure the uprights in place as supposed to wedges, this is now known as continuous weld estate fencing.
Wrought Iron has been replaced by mild steel which is much more adaptable with onsite welding and tends to be more malleable than cast iron while offering a similar lifespan. Cast iron has a tendency to fracture and is not favourable to welding due to impurities in the material being present during the casting process.
